A venture-backed AI startup is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its world-class team. They’re building a research assistant powered by LLMs, trusted by thousands of users to automate tedious workflows in science, policy, and academia.
What You’ll Do
You’ll be a key contributor on the engineering team, owning projects end-to-end across backend, full-stack, and ML-integrated systems. Whether you lean more frontend or infra, your work will shape core product functionality and enable a powerful research workflow. You’ll work closely with ML engineers, product leads, and fellow developers to ship features, solve complex systems challenges, and directly impact how real users interact with cutting-edge AI.
Responsibilities
- Build and scale distributed systems that integrate tightly with ML inference
- Work with TypeScript and Python across services, APIs, and user-facing features
- Collaborate with ML engineers to productize models into robust functionality
- Ship fast, learn from users, and improve the product continuously
- Contribute to architectural decisions and core engineering direction
Ideal Experience
- 5–10 years of professional experience in software engineering
- Deep comfort with TypeScript, Python, and distributed system design
- Prior work on AI/ML-powered products or LLM-based applications
- Startup experience, or time in fast-paced, high-agency environments
- Strong product sense—ability to balance user needs with technical constraints
- Passion for learning, autonomy, and building well-crafted tools
