A stealth-stage healthtech startup is on a mission to fix one of the most broken aspects of US healthcare: how providers get paid. Backed by top-tier investors and partnered with a major healthcare revenue cycle operator, this company is using AI to bring clarity and fairness to an industry plagued by complexity and inefficiency.
They’re developing a platform that ingests contracts, claims, and policy documents at scale, turning them into real-time pricing intelligence to support accurate reimbursement. By combining deep healthcare knowledge with cutting-edge ML, NLP, and system design, they’re enabling hospitals and clinicians to recover lost revenue — and reinvest in care.
As a Founding AI Engineer, you’ll join at the ground floor and own the design of intelligent systems that turn messy healthcare data into robust, production-grade pricing logic. This is a high-impact, zero-to-one role with substantial autonomy, technical scope, and equity upside.
What You’ll Do
- Design data pipelines and parsers for messy, semi-structured sources (e.g., PDFs, CSVs, APIs)
- Build normalization layers and unified schemas across multiple healthcare datasets
- Use NLP/LLMs to extract structured information from contracts and policy documents
- Model pricing logic: entities, rules, effective dates, and versioning
- Develop pricing engines that blend rules-based logic with ML-driven validation
- Build explainable, auditable systems with strong observability and performance
- Create APIs for real-time and batch repricing
- Develop test suites and frameworks to ensure accuracy, traceability, and compliance
What You’ll Bring
- Advanced Python and SQL skills with strong data modeling chops
- Experience building systems that convert messy inputs into structured outputs
- Familiarity with rules engines, ML validation systems, or workflow automation
- Hands-on API development (FastAPI, Flask, or similar)
- Strong testing, version control, and documentation practices
- Curiosity for complex systems and the drive to simplify them
