About the Role
The Machine Learning Research Engineer will join a high-caliber engineering team focused on solving challenging real-world problems in machine learning and natural language processing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and orchestrating multi-step workflows using language models.
- Curating fine-tuning datasets to improve model performance on complex reasoning tasks.
- Developing evaluation metrics to measure model and system improvements.
- Scaling semantic search systems to handle 100,000+ documents.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong software engineering skills, including system design and abstraction building.
- Deep familiarity with language models (training, fine-tuning, evaluation) or related fields such as semantic search and information extraction.
- Experience solving complex technical challenges creatively and applying recent research to practical use cases.
- A startup-oriented mindset, with a willingness to iterate quickly, experiment, and adapt.
- Strong knowledge of core concepts like transformers, tokenizers, Python decorators, and generic types.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base Salary Range: $195,000 – $250,000+, depending on experience and seniority level.
