A fast-growing, remote-first B2B SaaS company in the construction technology space is hiring a Head of AI (Director-level) to lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution of AI across the organization.
This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who can take AI from vision to real production delivery, define measurable success metrics, and build a scalable AI function inside a product-led business.
The Opportunity
You’ll own the company’s AI vision and roadmap, working closely with executive leadership to drive adoption of Generative AI, agentic workflows, and traditional machine learning across customer-facing and internal workflows.
This is not a “hands-off” management role. You won’t be coding daily, but you will stay close enough to the work to guide architecture, unblock engineers, and ensure delivery quality.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Define and execute the company’s AI vision, strategy, and long-term roadmap tied to measurable business outcomes
- Lead and scale a high-performing AI/ML function (team leadership, hiring, operating model, standards, governance)
- Oversee delivery of agentic AI + GenAI systems, including orchestration frameworks and model selection
- Own strategic direction for RAG platforms (enterprise knowledge retrieval, quality, reliability, consistency)
- Establish KPIs, experimentation frameworks, and continuous improvement processes
- Partner with Engineering/Platform teams on an AWS-based AI ecosystem (deployment, monitoring, cost optimization, lifecycle management)
- Ensure AI solutions meet requirements for privacy, security, and responsible AI practices
- Act as the AI advisor to senior leadership, influencing product strategy and investment decisions
What They’re Looking For
- 10+ years of AI / machine learning experience with significant leadership responsibility
- Proven track record delivering production AI systems (not just prototypes or research)
- Strong understanding of LLMs, RAG, and agentic AI concepts and tradeoffs
- Experience leading cross-functional AI initiatives and managing executive stakeholders
- Strong communication skills — able to explain complex AI topics to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience overseeing AI systems deployed on AWS

- Recommendation, ranking, personalization, or search experience
- Building AI functions inside scaling product organizations
- Marketplace, workflow automation, or document intelligence experience
