Full Stack Engineer – 3D Visualization
(Interactive 3D, Geospatial & Web Applications)
Compensation: $175,000–$250,000
Location: San Francisco Bay Area
The Company
A venture-backed applied AI company is building technology to transform how housing and the built environment are planned and designed. Its interdisciplinary team combines software, AI, science, design, and deep domain knowledge to tackle complex physical-world problems at scale.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to own one of the most technically challenging parts of an emerging product: making complex buildings, sites, geometries, and spatial information intuitive for users to understand and manipulate.
You will join early enough to shape both the engineering approach and how this capability appears in the product.
The Role
You will work as a Full Stack Engineer with particular depth in interactive 3D visualization. You'll build production software that brings complex building, site, and geospatial information together inside intuitive web experiences while contributing across the wider stack.
What You’ll Do
Design and build production-grade software for visualizing and interacting with complex 3D building and site information.
Create performant, interactive experiences around complex geometries and hierarchical 3D data.
Develop web workflows combining building information with geospatial and other contextual data layers.
Own functionality across front-end and back-end systems.
Work directly with users to understand requirements, collect feedback, and improve the product.
Partner closely with software engineers, AI engineers, designers, scientists, and domain specialists.
Help define the technical and product direction for 3D capabilities as the platform evolves.
What You’ll Bring
3+ years of experience building substantial software systems and web applications.
Strong Python and JavaScript/React development skills.
1+ years of hands-on experience building interactive, real-time 3D experiences involving CAD, BIM, complex geometry, simulation, or comparable technologies.
Strong software engineering and system design fundamentals.
Experience owning meaningful product features from initial problem through production.
Comfort navigating ambiguity and contributing across multiple areas of a small engineering team.
A product mindset and interest in building technology with tangible real-world impact.
What This Role Requires
Strong full stack software engineering capability.
Genuine hands-on experience developing interactive 3D functionality, not solely static rendering or visualization work.
Ability to build robust production web applications alongside specialist 3D functionality.
Willingness to work across the stack rather than remaining within a narrow graphics or GIS speciality.
Why Join
Take meaningful ownership of a sophisticated 3D product area while it is still being defined.
Apply technical skills to software connected directly to buildings, communities, sustainability, and the physical world.
Work alongside a highly interdisciplinary technical team solving problems that sit across AI, engineering, spatial data, and the built environment.
