Senior Salesforce Engineer
Senior Salesforce Engineer, Systems & Integrations
(Salesforce Architecture, Backend Integrations & Operational Systems)
Compensation: Competitive package, including equity
Location: Remote, US
The Company
We're partnering with a fast-growing, venture-backed healthcare technology company building the infrastructure that enables independent care providers to launch and scale their businesses. Its platform combines technology, operational support, and intelligent automation to reduce administrative complexity and improve access to specialist care.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to take full technical ownership of Salesforce within a scaling technology business where operational infrastructure is critical to growth. You'll shape the architecture, solve complex production challenges, and build the integrations and automations that allow the business to operate at significantly greater scale.
The Role
As a Senior Salesforce Engineer, you'll be the primary technical owner of the Salesforce environment, working across hands-on development, system architecture, integrations, and day-to-day operational improvements. You'll partner directly with Engineering, Product, and operational teams, translating business problems into practical, reliable technical solutions.
What You'll Do
Own the Salesforce environment end to end, from configuration and administration through complex engineering and architecture decisions.
Design, develop, and maintain solutions using Apex, triggers, Flow, Lightning, custom objects, and Salesforce automation.
Build and support reliable integrations between Salesforce, custom backend services, and user-facing applications.
Investigate production issues, diagnose root causes, and resolve problems involving data, workflows, synchronization, and system behavior.
Work directly with business stakeholders to understand operational processes, challenge assumptions, and identify the right technical approach.
Improve engineering practices across testing, source control, CI/CD, deployments, monitoring, and recovery.
Evaluate architectural and build-versus-buy decisions, balancing short-term operational needs with long-term maintainability and scalability.
What You'll Bring
Typically 4–6+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience, with more senior candidates welcome if they remain actively involved in implementation.
Strong expertise in Apex, triggers, Lightning, Flow, Salesforce automation, data modeling, and permissions.
Demonstrated experience integrating Salesforce with custom applications, APIs, and backend services.
A proven ability to troubleshoot complex production problems and implement maintainable solutions independently.
Strong communication and discovery skills, particularly when working with non-technical stakeholders to unpack ambiguous requirements.
Experience owning technical decisions across both configuration and code, with an understanding of reliable software delivery.
Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools while maintaining responsibility for code quality and correctness.
What This Role Requires
Hands-on Salesforce engineering expertise, including Apex development, triggers, automations, and production troubleshooting.
Experience building and maintaining Salesforce integrations with custom applications or backend systems.
Ability to independently investigate business requirements, make technical decisions, and implement solutions without relying on a wider Salesforce development team.
Confidence collaborating with operational stakeholders, explaining tradeoffs, and taking ownership from discovery through production.
