Role Overview: Senior ML Engineer (MLOps Platform Focus)
This is a non-modeling role focused on ML platform engineering. The hire will build core infrastructure to support training, deployment, and monitoring of thousands of hotel-specific ML models. It’s about enabling scale and performance—not designing the models themselves.
Think ML Engineer meets DevOps/Platform Engineer, with deep AWS and Kubernetes exposure, but with enough ML lifecycle awareness to bridge with DS teams.
Reporting & Team Context
- Reports to: Erol (Head of Data/ML)
- Works closely with: Cameron (Lead ML Engineer), Data Scientists, DevOps, Platform Engineers
- Current state: Cameron is the lead doing most of this work; this hire will reduce the load and own key platform areas.

Tech Stack Snapshot
Must-Haves (based on Erol’s comments)
- 3–5 years’ experience building ML infrastructure
- Strong AWS experience (esp. SageMaker + orchestration)
- Hands-on with Kubernetes for training & inference workloads
- Clear ownership of training and deployment pipelines
- Familiar with monitoring, rollback strategies, CI/CD
- NOT a modeler! This is infra, not data science
Hard No's / Misalignment
- Candidates with primarily modeling backgrounds, even if they’ve “touched MLOps”
- Pure Data Scientists looking to “move into MLOps”
- People who talk about model experimentation, but not platform support

- Has built or scaled an ML platform in AWS

- Worked in orgs with many models deployed in parallel

- Bonus: Has operated in multi-tenant ML settings (e.g. different models per client/team/product)
