A successful, privately backed software company with strong market traction is building a new AI initiative and hiring a senior backend engineer to help lead the charge. This is a rare opportunity to work on LLM-powered agent systems that automate real workflows, inside a mature product organization with meaningful scale.
You'll join a hands-on technical team with experienced leadership and the resources to move fast. The work is production-first, focused on intelligent orchestration, backend systems, and getting AI features into the hands of users quickly.
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain backend infrastructure in TypeScript (Bun), deployed via AWS containers
- Architect and scale systems that power agentic workflows, including prompt pipelines and async task orchestration
- Review code, lead design conversations, and help shape technical decisions
- Collaborate closely with senior engineering leadership and a lean, capable team
Tech Stack & Environment
- TypeScript (Bun), AWS (ECS, S3, EC2, Postgres)
- Containers used throughout, not Kubernetes-focused
- LLMs from OpenAI, Bedrock, and Gemini
- Frontend in Vue, but this role is backend-heavy
- Focused on shipping production AI features using existing model
- 3 to 5 years of backend experience, preferably in product-driven or high-growth companies
- Strong backend and infrastructure fundamentals
- Comfortable working independently and collaborating in async environments
- Bonus if you’ve worked with LLMs, agent systems, or prompt-based workflows
