Senior Platform Engineer
(Cloud Infrastructure, Security & Developer Platform)
Compensation: Up to $250k base + equity

Its platform combines AI, geospatial data, regulatory context, and deep domain expertise to help solve one of the world’s most important built-environment challenges.
The team is early, highly technical, and interdisciplinary, bringing together software engineers, AI specialists, scientists, and domain experts to build a new category-defining platform from the ground up.
The Opportunity
This is a foundational platform engineering role with broad ownership across cloud infrastructure, security, compliance, observability, DevOps, and data orchestration. The company has strong engineering talent already in place, but needs a dedicated platform leader to set the foundations that allow the team to move faster, safer, and with greater customer trust.
You will not be joining as the fifth person on a mature infrastructure team. You will be the person helping define what good looks like from day one.
The Role
You will own and evolve the company’s GCP cloud environment, infrastructure as code, deployment safety, observability, and security foundations. You will work across engineering, AI, product, and domain teams to make production systems more reliable, secure, scalable, and developer-friendly.
This is a hands-on senior IC role for someone who enjoys switching between architecture, implementation, operational problem-solving, compliance readiness, and internal tooling.
What You’ll Do
Own and evolve infrastructure as code across a complex GCP environment.
Lead cloud security and compliance readiness, including the technical foundations required for SOC 2.
Build out observability, monitoring, alerting, and production visibility from an early-stage baseline.
Improve CI/CD and deployment workflows so engineers can ship quickly without compromising reliability or security.
Design cloud architecture that supports secure, multi-tenant customer environments and strong data separation.
Contribute to data orchestration systems that make data processes reproducible, traceable, scalable, and secure.
Build internal tooling and automation, primarily using Python, to improve developer productivity and operational efficiency.
What You’ll Bring
Deep hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform.
Strong Terraform expertise, including modules, state management, environments, and infrastructure-as-code best practices.
Experience hardening cloud environments and designing security-first production systems.
Practical observability experience, ideally implementing monitoring, logging, tracing, or alerting systems in a startup context.
Experience owning CI/CD, deployment safety, platform reliability, or developer productivity.
Comfort operating in an early-stage environment where the work can shift quickly across infra, security, DevOps, data, and tooling.
Strong collaboration style and the ability to set technical standards without ego or heavy process.
What This Role Requires

Startup or zero-to-one platform engineering experience.
Security-first cloud architecture experience.
Ability to work across cloud infrastructure, security, observability, CI/CD, and data orchestration rather than only one narrow platform specialty.
