Research Scientist – AI Lab (NYC)

The Role
As a Research Scientist, you will design, develop, and validate state-of-the-art machine learning and AI models to extract insights from complex, high-dimensional data. You’ll drive original research, collaborate closely with engineers to productionize models, and explore novel approaches across statistics, optimization, and reasoning.
Responsibilities
- Conduct first-class research in machine learning, statistics, and applied mathematics.
- Design predictive and explanatory models that improve forecasting and decision-making.
- Translate research findings into actionable, production-ready systems.
- Partner with engineers to prototype, scale, and productionize ML workflows.
- Continuously explore and integrate new methodologies into modeling pipelines.
About You
- Ph.D. in computer science, statistics, physics, mathematics, or related discipline.
- 3–5+ years of impactful research experience with a record of publications or equivalent contributions.
- Strong programming and computational skills; ability to work with large, messy, real-world datasets.
- Hands-on experience across the full data science lifecycle, from feature engineering to interpretability and continuous evaluation.
- Ability to independently drive open-ended research problems, rapidly learn new domains, and communicate complex concepts clearly.
