AI Engineer
Location: New York City (Hybrid)
Compensation: Up to $600K total cash
We are partnered with a leading investment platform hiring its first in-house AI Engineer.
This is a rare opportunity to operate at the intersection of machine learning, strategy, and commercial impact. You will work directly with senior leadership and investment teams to define how AI is deployed across the firm and its portfolio companies.
This is not a traditional engineering role. You will be responsible for identifying high-value opportunities, building and deploying AI systems, and influencing how decisions are made across the business.
What you’ll be doing:
- Partnering with senior stakeholders to identify and execute AI-driven initiatives
- Designing and deploying end-to-end machine learning systems
- Building LLM-powered tools and applications that improve internal workflows and decision-making
- Establishing foundational AI infrastructure in a greenfield environment
- Acting as the internal expert on applied AI across both the firm and its portfolio
What they are looking for:
- Strong academic background in Computer Science from a top-tier institution
- Proven experience building and deploying end-to-end machine learning or deep learning systems
- Hands-on experience with LLMs and modern AI tooling (e.g. RAG, NLP systems, applied GenAI)
- Strong software engineering fundamentals
- Ability to operate in a commercial environment and communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders
