Senior Software Engineer, AI
Compensation: $180,000 – $200,000 base + equity
Location: Remote (periodic offsites)
Join a fast-growing, well-funded AI infrastructure startup building core systems that help teams run generative AI reliably in production. This is a high-ownership role focused on shipping real product features at the intersection of full-stack engineering and applied AI systems.
The Mission
As generative AI moves from experimentation to production, teams struggle with reliability, visibility, and control. This company is building foundational tooling that helps engineers understand system behavior, diagnose failures, and iterate safely as AI systems scale.
The Role
This is a true full-stack software engineering role. You will build user-facing product features alongside backend services that integrate with complex AI workflows. The work involves translating ambiguous product requirements into production-ready systems and owning features end to end.
The team is operating in a greenfield environment, moving quickly from early product development into broader customer deployments.
What You’ll Do
- Build and ship full-stack features using TypeScript, React, and Node.js
- Develop backend services that support system diagnostics and workflow visibility
- Integrate with AI-driven components and external services
- Help design and implement remediation and debugging workflows
- Own features from planning through production and iteration
- Contribute to system design and architectural decisions
- Collaborate closely with product and engineering partners
What You’ll Bring
- Strong full-stack engineering experience with modern JavaScript frameworks
- Experience shipping production software in high-ownership environments
- Exposure to AI-powered products or integrating AI into real systems
- Ability to operate autonomously in ambiguity and drive work forward
- Solid engineering fundamentals around debugging, performance, and reliability
- Bonus: familiarity with observability, tracing, or distributed systems concepts
