Product Manager
(AI Product & Built Environment)
Compensation: $200,000–$350,000 base + equity
Location: San Mateo | Hybrid
The Company
A high-growth applied AI company is building a new generation of software for one of the world’s largest and most complex industries: housing and building development. Its products are already being used by early customers across both the private and public sectors, with the company now moving from early validation toward broader commercial scale.
The Opportunity
This is an early and highly influential product hire at a point where customer demand, product complexity, and the number of active workstreams are accelerating. You will inherit meaningful product foundations but still have substantial freedom to shape workflows, roadmap decisions, product discipline, and how the organization approaches product as it scales.
The Role
You’ll own major product workstreams serving customers across real estate development and the public sector, working directly with senior leadership, engineers, research scientists, domain experts, and GTM. This is primarily a product management role: the priority is finding an exceptional PM who can thrive in ambiguity, master a difficult domain quickly, and turn complex technical capabilities into products customers will pay for.
What You’ll Do
Own and evolve product roadmaps across complex AI-enabled product workstreams.
Take early products, PRDs, prototypes, and customer workflows through validation, refinement, launch, and iteration.
Lead customer discovery with developers, public-sector stakeholders, and other industry participants to identify genuine product and commercial signals.
Translate complicated user, regulatory, data, and technical requirements into clear product specifications and engineering priorities.
Design flexible, context-aware product experiences rather than forcing customers through rigid, one-size-fits-all workflows.
Identify pragmatic features and integrations that make sophisticated AI capabilities immediately useful within existing customer workflows.
Partner with GTM on packaging, value propositions, pricing inputs, and measurement of product and commercial impact.
What You’ll Bring
Strong product management experience delivering complex technology products from concept through launch and iteration.
Evidence that you have operated successfully in zero-to-one or highly ambiguous product environments.
The technical depth to communicate confidently with software engineers and AI specialists and produce high-quality technical product requirements.
Strong customer instincts and the ability to turn messy stakeholder feedback into simple, high-value product decisions.
Genuine curiosity about modern AI, demonstrated through professional work, independent projects, experimentation, or active use of current AI tooling.
Comfort solving unfamiliar, difficult problems without waiting for someone else to provide the blueprint.
Strong cross-functional communication and the ability to create clarity across technical, commercial, and domain-focused teams.
What This Role Requires
Proven product management capability on complex software products.
Ability to operate effectively in an early-stage environment with significant ambiguity and autonomy.
Technical fluency sufficient to work deeply with engineering teams and reason about areas including data, infrastructure, and AI systems.
Strong customer communication, discovery, prioritization, and product decision-making skills.
Active interest in AI and a clear willingness to keep learning as the technology evolves.
Tech Stack
AI and large language model-enabled product systems
Data schemas and integrations
AI model inputs and outputs
Infrastructure requirements
Specific stack details will be discussed during the process.
Why Join
Take meaningful ownership while the product and product organization are still early enough to shape rather than simply inherit.
Work on technically difficult AI applications with tangible impact across housing, development, and the built environment.
Join at the transition from early product validation toward commercial scale, with direct exposure to senior leadership and significant long-term scope.
