The Opportunity
This is a high-autonomy role for a technical builder who wants to use AI to reshape how complex healthcare operations get done. You will work directly with operators, identify high-friction workflows, and build systems that reduce manual work across the business.
The role is highly visible, commercially important, and central to the company’s ability to scale.
The Role
You will design, build, and iterate on AI-assisted automations, backend services, integrations, and internal tools across healthcare operations workflows. This is not a pure prototyping role; the focus is durable, production-grade automation that works in real operational environments.
You will need strong engineering depth, sharp product judgment, and the ability to understand messy workflows directly from users.
What You’ll Do
Build and ship production-grade workflow automations, backend services, integrations, and internal tools.
Shadow operational teams to identify high-leverage opportunities for automation.
Partner with operators to understand manual workflows, exceptions, edge cases, and business rules.
Design AI-assisted workflows and agentic systems where they create real operational leverage.
Redesign processes where automation alone is not the right answer.
Iterate systems after launch based on user feedback, measurable impact, and changing business requirements.
Help define reusable automation patterns that increase the company’s AI-native operating capacity.
What You’ll Bring
Senior engineering experience across backend, fullstack, platform, workflow-heavy systems, or automation-heavy environments.
Strong TypeScript and Postgres experience.
Evidence of building real automations, agentic workflows, or AI-assisted systems beyond basic experimentation.
Strong product judgment and the ability to discover requirements directly from operators and non-technical users.
Comfort working in ambiguous, fast-moving startup environments without waiting for perfect specs.
Strong communication skills and the ability to partner closely with operations, product, and engineering.
Interest in healthcare operations, regulated data, and building systems that improve access to care.
What This Role Requires
Commercial engineering experience, with enough backend depth to build production systems.
Fluency in TypeScript and Postgres.
Demonstrable experience building automations, internal tools, workflow systems, or AI-assisted operational products.
Ability to work directly with operations stakeholders and turn messy workflows into maintainable systems.
High agency, strong learning velocity, and a practical AI-native builder mindset.
