Data Engineer

Position Overview:
My client is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will partner closely with the Data Science and Data Infrastructure teams to own and scale data pipelines that connect various cloud data sources. You will also work with stakeholders across business teams, including sales, marketing, and finance, to ensure the needed data is delivered promptly and reliably. This position offers an exciting opportunity to build and optimize data pipelines, create new foundational datasets, and establish best practices for analytics and modeling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines connecting various cloud data sources.
- Develop a deep understanding of the company’s core data models and optimize data pipelines for scalability.
- Partner with Data Science and Data Infrastructure teams to build foundational datasets that are trusted, well understood, and enable self-service.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to derive requirements, architect shared datasets, and simplify complex problems for various audiences.
- Establish best practices for developing specialized datasets for analytics and modeling.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in a relevant field.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Familiarity with Snowflake, dbt, Dagster, and ETL/reverse ETL tools.
- Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with a self-starting mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of data modeling methodologies to design and build robust data architectures for insightful analytics.
- Experience with business systems such as Salesforce, Customer IO, Stripe, and NetSuite is a big plus.
