Job Description:
Our leading e-commerce brand client is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join their team. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be critical in designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data systems that drive business growth and informed decision-making. This is a remote opportunity, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home on the East Coast.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using ETL tools and technologies
- Lead the development of data architectures that support business intelligence, analytics, and data science initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data needs and develop solutions to meet those needs
- Develop and maintain large-scale data processing applications using Apache Spark and other big data technologies
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data systems
- Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures
- Mentor junior data engineers and provide technical guidance
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying knowledge to improve data engineering practices continuously
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on ETL, data architecture, and big data technologies
- Strong proficiency in Apache Spark, with expertise in developing scalable data processing applications
- Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, or AWS Glue
- Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and data governance principles
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Scala, or Python
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Nice to Have:
- Experience with data engineering tools such as Apache Beam, Apache NiFi, or AWS Data Pipeline
- Knowledge of data science and machine learning concepts, with experience working with data scientists and analysts
- Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git
- Certification in Apache Spark, AWS, or GCP
