Company Overview

Our client is a leading provider of cloud-based technology solutions for workflow and revenue management. The company is known for its innovative approach to optimizing pricing strategies and financial forecasting for various industries, including hospitality. With a rapidly growing customer base of over 6,000 businesses, the company has recently been acquired by a prominent private equity firm focused on data-rich, growth-oriented sectors. This acquisition offers a unique opportunity to make impactful decisions using vast data assets.

The Role

We are seeking a Principal Data Scientist to lead the development of forecasting models from the ground up. This key role involves creating predictive models that will help clients optimize their operations and enhance decision-making processes, particularly in revenue management. You will work with diverse data sets, including historical data, third-party information, and other sources provided by the data engineering team, all within an AWS environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement forecasting models to support revenue optimization for a large client base.
  • Lead projects and provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineering and machine learning experts, to gather and analyze data.
  • Deploy models in a production environment, ensuring scalability and reliability.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience as a Data Scientist with a strong background in machine learning, deep learning, and statistical analysis.
  • Extensive experience in building and deploying machine learning models, particularly for time series forecasting.
  • Industry experience in hospitality is a plus, but candidates from other sectors are welcome.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of mentoring and guiding junior data scientists.

The Team

The successful candidate will join a highly skilled team led by a seasoned Senior Director of Data & ML with extensive experience in machine learning. The team is structured to encourage full-stack ML capabilities, offering opportunities to engage in all aspects of the machine learning lifecycle—from data collection to model deployment.

Location

This role is fully remote, with candidates ideally located in any of the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin, or West Virginia.

Application Process

Interested candidates will go through a streamlined interview process, starting with an initial screening via Greenhouse, followed by multiple interview rounds to assess technical skills and cultural fit.
